Hey,
MY NAME IS DR. ALEX ANDERSON, BUT YOU CAN JUST CALL ME ALEX. I AM A doctor OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, who is board certified in orthopaedic physical therapy and FELLOWSHIP-TRAINED IN ORTHOPAEDIC MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPy. I am dry needling certified and also treat women’s health conditions.
I am from the D.C. area originally and will always call Maryland home. I also have a special place in my heart for California, as that is where I received my PT education. My Fellowship program at the University of Illinois at Chicago brought me to the midwest, which is where I am currently practicing.
My passion for starting The Physical Therapy Academy is to treat pain and movement dysfunction. I believe we are all meant to move and achieve pain free, efficient movement. This is my goal for all my clients. My knowledge of pain science, motor control, and exercise physiology allows me to incorporate techniques to retrain faulty movement.
In addition to orthopaedics, I also treat a variety of women’s health conditions. Believe it or not, the pelvic floor also consists of muscle, which needs to be strong and functional, just like the rest of the body.
By providing one-on-one, personalized care, I have discovered that better movement is possible for anyone willing to take on the challenge. The best part is that by working together, we can achieve this through thorough, efficient, and effective collaboration. So let’s get in touch and get you on your way to better movement.

Hi! My name is Leanna (or Dr. Blanchard if you're feeling fancy) and I have been a licensed physical therapist since 2015. I graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University, and completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency through GWU and Johns Hopkins.
I moved back home to Chicago, and completed a Fellowship in manual therapy at University of Illinois at Chicago. I am a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
I have been working with breast cancer survivors since 2016, and as a survivor myself, have a strong passion for helping survivors, previvors, and thrivers of all ages and stages.
I’m excited to join The Physical Therapy Academy with the goal of reaching more women (and men) affected by breast cancer or genetic predispositions to cancer, and helping them live full, active lives at any phase of treatment.
